Current Projects

The following projects are in the works sponsored by the board or by volunteer groups.
Because the park is under lease with BLM, any projects that involve moving earth or projects that could affect environmental laws require review and approval by BLM.
The project is first reviewed and approved by the board, then approved by the county commissioners who make the official request to BLM. We are always looking for individuals and organizations to partner with the board on these and future projects.
Please contact the SRCP board chair if you have any questions or would like to volunteer on improving the park.
Other potential projects depending on interest:
- Tent Camping - Expansion of Rickett's RV camp to include a designated dispersed tent camping area
- Dog Park - install obstacles, benches, arbors/shelters, separate areas for small dogs and large dogs. Parking lot for approximately 10-15 cars or vans and a vault toilet.
- East Park Trailhead/Vineyard Lake – Develop a trailhead for immediate hiking and equestrian access to the eastern section of the park, Vineyard Lake and the Devil's Corral area.
- Springtown Wildlife Trail on east side of park- Includes Parking lot and wooden foot bridge over irrigation canal.
