Yingst Grade – ROW

Yingst Grade – ROW

Jerome County has requested a Right of Way (ROW) from the Bureau of Land Management for the existing Yingst Grade Trail for Snake River Canyons Park (SRCP) to replace the ROW that expired on July 11, 2020.

The purpose of this ROW is for improvement and use of an existing dirt/gravel road that extends from rim to river, including the road offshoot that leads to the Warm Springs Hatchery and spur trails to the west.  The trail will be used primarily for pedestrian and bicycle non-motorized use and occasional motorized maintenance.  The trail is necessary on public lands because it is the only public access point to the river and the newly constructed pedestrian bridge across the river to Auger Falls Park.

Trail construction work is proposed to start fall of 2025 and last no more than 2 months. Trail closures will be limited to no more than 3 days during the week and will not occur in the months of December, January, March and April. Trail will remain open Thursday through Sunday. Maintenance is needed for public safety and erosion control and will occur as needed on a year-round basis.

Status: Approved by BLM. ROW in perpetuity with scheduled reviews
