Overview

Offering nature’s most spectacular display, the Snake River Canyons are a place of unforgettable beauty. The deep, winding canyons of Snake River Canyon are one-of-a-kind. Because the canyon walls grow 1,000 feet from your doorstep and there’s no place else on earth that looks like it.

Hiking in the Snake River Canyons Park can be an incredibly rewarding experience. However, it’s important to take some precautions and follow a few safety tips to ensure that your time there is both enjoyable and safe.

First of all, make sure you are properly prepared for your trip by bringing enough food and water, as well as appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Also, be sure to bring a map, compass and GPS device if available, as well as a charged cell phone in case of emergencies.

Next, check the weather before you head out - this will help you plan accordingly for any unexpected changes in temperature or conditions. It’s also important to stay on marked trails at all times - off-trail hiking can be dangerous due to steep cliffs and uneven ground.

Finally, remember that wildlife encounters happen frequently in this area - so keep your distance from any animals or birds you may encounter while hiking. By following these simple tips you can enjoy the beauty of Snake River Canyons Park with peace of mind!

The Western Magic Valley Realtors sponsored the project to build and place four different benches and a sign at a lookout point at the top of the Yingst grade near the trail that goes to the river.
